Emergencies

Home » Emergencies

Emergencies are triaged and referred accordingly. Many emergencies can be facilitated through our Northland drive clinic but some cases require intensive or specialized care. If you feel you have an emergency with your pet, please call us immediately. Please call before coming in so that a staff member can advise you on your particular emergency.

We work closely with our local emergency referral hospitals so that our patients get the best care. We will follow up with their doctors who are caring for your pet throughout their stay. In this way we can stay current on what care is being provided and provide any additional support.

Lost Pet

In the event that you find your pet lost or missing there are many resources to help you find your pet.  In the Kent County the first stop is Kent County Animal Control.  This facility receives many lost pets and also keeps a log of found pets and who is hosting them until they are claimed.  Keep in mind the shelter staff can not help you identify your pet over the phone and you will need to visit the shelter to look through their kennel.  Your next visit should be to Humane Society of West Michigan.  They do not take stray cats but will take stray dogs.  If you do not live in the Kent County area make sure to check your local animal control.
